Debate Workshop on 'Media Debates: Understanding Cancel Culture' 2023

On 5th April 2023, an online workshop was conducted by QatarDeabte as part of the Ramadan series Training. The topic of the workshop was 'Media Debates: Understanding Cancel Culture' which was led by our own student Victoria Honoridez and was attended by Jereni Cathreen Jeyakaran, Aryan Dubey, Abhimanyu Gupta, Surya Kauthik Basangi, Drishti Tibrewal, Leen Sameer, Vyusti Singh, Nandini Devang Pathak, Ziya Fathima Rasik, Aaryan Sujith, Amir Nawaz Razvi Syed, Mukunth Madhavan and the coach Ms. Jaya Majumder.

The workshop focused on the concept of cancel culture and its impact on media debates. It explored how the media landscape is changing and how the cancel culture is becoming a powerful tool to silence dissent. The participants engaged in a lively discussion on the topic and shared their views on the pros and cons of cancel culture. The workshop also highlighted the importance of freedom of speech in media debates and the need to find a balance between accountability and censorship.
